Information management and governance in SharePoint 2013

How will you govern the information in your organization, such as documents, lists, websites, and Web Pages? How do you maximize the information’s usability and manageability? Who has access to what information? How are you making information available internally and externally, and to whom?

I found a very detailed article from MS when I am doing research on this. Please check the link below for more detailed.

Changing of IP address for the existing SharePoint farm

Changing of IP address for the existing SharePoint farm

Description: Changing of IP address for the existing SharePoint farm is the most common scenario for the SharePoint administrators. What will happen to the farm if change of IP address to existing?

Explanation: Changing of IP address to existing farm will not be break anything with SharePoint. But be sure to consider below while changing the IP.

1.   Change your DNS records to point to the new IP address for all Web Applications
2.   Change the IP addresses for the SQL Server and SharePoint
3.   Check IIS on your SharePoint Server(s) to see if the new IP address is correctly configured for all Web
Applications on all the servers in your farm.

Note: replicating SharePoint VMs and their backend SQL Server VMs is probably not supported due to timer job synchronization/time synchronization issues.

I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

Difference between site collection administrators and site owners

Difference between site collection administrators and site owners.

·         Site collection administrators: These administrators have the Full Control permission level on all Web sites in a site collection. They have Full Control access to all site content in that site collection, even if they do not have explicit permissions on that site. They can audit all site content and receive any administrative message. A primary and a secondary site collection administrator can be specified during the creation of a site collection.

·         Site owners: By default, members of the Owners group for a site have the Full Control permission level on that site. They can perform administrative tasks on the site, and on any list or library within that site. They receive e-mail notifications for events, such as the pending automatic deletion of inactive sites and requests for site access.
