The KB article for March 2023 CU will be available at the following Location in a couple of hours:

  • KB 5002358 – March 2023 Update for SharePoint Server 2019 (language independent)

  • KB 5002357 – March 2023 Update for SharePoint Server 2019 (language dependent)

The downloads for March 2023 CU are available through the following links:

Important: It is required to install both fixes (language dependent and independent) to fully patch a SharePoint server. This applies also to servers which do not have language packs installed. The reason is that each SharePoint installation includes a language dependent component together with a language independent component. If additional language packs are added later (only) the language dependent fix has to be applied again.

It is irrelevant which language you pick on the drop down in download center. Even the language dependent fixes are all in the same package for all languages.

After installing the fixes you need to run the SharePoint 2019 Products Configuration Wizard on each machine in the farm. If you prefer to run the command line version psconfig.exe ensure to have a look here for the correct options.

Please ensure to have a look at the SharePoint Patching Best Practices before applying new fixes.

SharePoint 2019 March 2023 CU Build Number:

Language independent fix: 16.0.10396.20000
Language dependent fix: 16.0.10396.20000

I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

retention labels in sharepoint online or creating retention labels in sharepoint

Retention labels in sharepoint online or creating retention labels in sharepoint

Retention settings that you configure can help you achieve all these goals. Managing content commonly requires two actions:

    1.      Retaining content so that it cannot be permanently deleted before the end of the retention period.
    2.      Deleting content permanently at the end of the retention period.

With these two retention actions, you can configure retention settings for the following outcomes:

    1.  Retain-only: Retain content forever or for a specified period.
    2.  Delete-only: Delete content after a specified period.
    3.  Retain and then delete: Retain content for a specified period and then delete it.

sharepoint full trust solutions or Full trust solutions on sharepoint online

sharepoint full trust solutions or Full trust solutions on sharepoint online:

    1. Full trust solutions are solutions that are developed using SharePoint server DLLs and deployed on a farm.
    2. These full trust solutions execute on the server.
    3. Currently Full Trust solutions are not supported on SharePoint online.

    Migration Limitation:

    1. SharePoint Online does not support full trust solutions.
    2. These solutions cannot be migrated to SharePoint online using any migration tool. Even ShareGate does not support this

    Alternate Solution:
    1. As an alternate to migrate these Full Trust solutions a transformation can be planned wherein these solutions can be rebuilt using the latest Microsoft Microsoft 365technologies.
    2. Below alternate solutions must be evaluated carefully based on business requirements as most of these solutions follow Client Object Model
    3. These solutions can be rebuilt with Add-ins, SPFx, Power Apps, Power Automate Flow, etc.
    4. ▪ Custom web parts can be rebuilt using SPFx.
    5. ▪ Event recievers can be rebuilt using Remote Event Receivers hosted in Azure.
    6. ▪ There are ready to use SPFx webpart solutions are available in github.
